According to the Ambassador, the initiative seeks to create a platform for Ghanaian and Peruvian cuisines to interact, particularly as the two countries share similarities in their food traditions and culinary cultures.
She further explained that the culinary exchange is intended to promote greater appreciation of both countries' gastronomic heritage by introducing Ghanaian dishes to leading restaurants in Peru while creating opportunities for Peruvian meals, beverages and traditional liquors to feature on menus in top restaurants across Ghana.
Ambassador Gómez expressed optimism that the initiative would create new opportunities for collaboration among chefs, restaurant operators and food enthusiasts in both countries.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to leverage gastronomy as a tool for cultural diplomacy, strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Peru while creating opportunities for citizens of both countries to explore and appreciate each other's culinary traditions.
Through the exchange, both countries hope to use food as a common language to deepen cultural understanding, encourage tourism and open new avenues for cooperation within the hospitality and culinary industries.
