BHIM Nation, mark your calendars. Stonebwoy's BHIM Festival returns for its 11th edition on Thursday, December 24, 2026, and this time it is heading to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon.
It is a change of scene from the Accra Sports Stadium, which hosted last year's 10th-anniversary edition. Tickets are on sale through the official BHIM Festival website, and fans in Ghana can also buy by dialling *714*2026#.
Why Legon?
Explaining the move in an interview, Stonebwoy described it as part of the festival's growth. Having filled the Accra Sports Stadium twice, he said, his team is now looking at the next stage of the event.
He also pointed to ongoing renovation work at the Accra Sports Stadium, saying its current state was not ideal for a show of BHIM's size. He hinted that other considerations shaped the choice too, with more details to come.
The UG Sports Stadium is expected to give organisers room for the crowd as well as help with access control, security and logistics.
'We do not have a permanent venue'
His publicist, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, later added more context. She said the team wrote to several venues, including both stadiums, so it would not be stuck if its first choice was taken.
"What if you had gone to UG Sports Stadium and they told you, 'Oh, the 24th is booked?'" she said. She added that Legon was the preferred option because of the kind of production planned for this year.
She stressed that the switch is not a permanent goodbye to the Accra Sports Stadium. Over the years, BHIM has been staged in arenas, parks and even on the beach. "We do not have a permanent venue per se for the event," she said.
With the date set on Christmas Eve, right in the thick of the December festivities, the countdown to Legon is officially on.
