Fans left hanging by the first season of The Covenant finally have a date. Part 2 of the Nigerian action thriller premieres on Netflix across Africa, including Ghana, on November 6, 2026.
Viewers outside Africa will be able to stream the new chapter on Kava TV instead.
Bigger, and heading south
Creator and executive producer Vincent Okonkwo of VSL Media is back in charge of the story. This time, South African filmmaker King Shaft takes the director's chair.
The cast is also growing. Familiar Nollywood names are now joined by actors from South Africa, giving the series a cross-border feel.
Sola Sobowale returns as Stella, the family's formidable matriarch. She is joined by returning stars Gideon Okeke, Uzee Usman, Bimbo Manuel, Segun Arinze, Ivie Okujaye and Tope Olowoniyan.
South African actors Vuyo Dabula and Sibusiso Jill come on board as new characters, adding fresh tension to a story already full of family rivalries.
What to expect
The official trailer, released on the AfricaOnNetflix YouTube channel, picks up the threads of the first season's cliffhanger.
Dagogo is pulled even deeper into dangerous gang conflicts, while his family fights to hold on to its empire. Old betrayals, grief, revenge and battles for control all carry over from season one.
New alliances are also forming, which suggests the family's problems are about to get even more complicated.
Why it matters
With Nigerian and South African talent sharing the screen, Part 2 is shaping up as a true pan-African production, both in front of and behind the camera.
For Ghanaian viewers who follow Nollywood closely, the November 6 release lands just in time for weekend binge plans.
