The National Film Authority (NFA) is set to launch the Cinema Train Initiative on Saturday, October 31, 2026, as part of efforts to revive Ghana’s cinema-going culture and expand opportunities for the exhibition of local films.

The official launch will take place at the Accra Mall Food Court at 5:00 p.m., bringing together film industry stakeholders and members of the general public to mark the introduction of the initiative.

Developed by the NFA in consultation with key industry stakeholders, the Cinema Train Initiative seeks to improve access to Ghanaian films, encourage cinema attendance, and create more exhibition opportunities for local productions across the country and beyond.

The initiative is expected to contribute to efforts to strengthen Ghana’s film industry by creating additional avenues for filmmakers to reach audiences and showcase their work. By expanding access to local content, it also aims to encourage greater public engagement with Ghanaian cinema.

The launch is expected to provide an opportunity for stakeholders and the public to learn more about the initiative and its role in supporting the growth and development of the country’s film sector. The Cinema Train Initiative represents another step in ongoing efforts to promote Ghanaian films, strengthen the local film exhibition ecosystem, and build a more vibrant cinema culture.
