Four performers from Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Kenya will represent AMC at the African cultural and creative gathering scheduled for November 5–8, 2026.
AMC is set to perform at CANEX WKND 2026, bringing together four outstanding talents from its journey so far to celebrate the richness of African storytelling and the growing possibilities of the continent’s creative industry.
The performance will feature four former AMC contestants and titleholders whose journeys reflect the diversity of African talent and the power of storytelling to connect people across borders.
Representing Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Kenya, the performers will bring their individual experiences, voices and creative expressions to the stage, showcasing the stories and possibilities that make African talent distinctive.
The featured performers are Jeromy Mumba, AMC’s first runner-up in 2023; Maud Guerard, AMC winner in 2024; William Lamptey, popularly known as Willie Chembez, AMC winner in 2026; and Douglas M. Nyaga, AMC’s first runner-up in 2026.
Their appearance at CANEX WKND 2026 will highlight AMC’s commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities for African performers to share their stories with wider audiences.
More than a performance, the showcase is intended to celebrate the talent developed through AMC and the diverse stories Africa has to share with the world. It will also bring together different cultural perspectives, demonstrating how creative expression can serve as a bridge between African countries and audiences.
CANEX WKND 2026 is scheduled to take place from November 5 to 8 at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos, Nigeria.
Under the theme “One People. United in Culture. Creating for the World,” the event will provide a platform for celebrating African creativity, cultural identity and the continent’s creative potential.
For AMC, the showcase marks an opportunity to present the achievements of its performers on a broader stage while reinforcing the importance of investing in African talent and storytelling.
As the four performers prepare to take the stage, their participation represents a celebration of individual achievement, shared cultural heritage and the stories that continue to shape Africa’s creative future.
